Did you purchase data plans for your travel trip from the Numero app for your eSIM-supported device, so you won’t get lost in the airport looking for a place to buy a new SIM card to get access to the internet? Are your friends or family members travelling with you and they might need to access the internet but they didn’t purchase data plans as you did? Well, the good news is that you can use the personal hotspot and allow others to access the internet with your data plan.
First let’s make sure that you know how to purchase and activate data plans, if you don’t, please follow the instructions in this tutorial.
Now, let’s see how to use personal hotspot on both ios, and Android.
On iOS
- First, you have to make sure that data roaming is turned on
- Now, if you manually set the APN for the eSIM data plan, you must set it again to use the hotspot with your eSIM data plan.
- If you automatically installed the eSIM data plan, you my skip the APN step.
The APN is the same as in the installation guide.
Follow these steps to set personal hotspot APN settings on your ios device

- Go to “Settings”
- Go to “Cellular/Mobile Data”
- Tap on the eSIM data plan you purchased
- Go to “Cellular/Mobile Data Network”
- In the APN field, write the APN as it is in the installation guide (lower cases), and leave the username and password blank.
- Go back to settings> Cellular
- Turn on the personal hotspot.
- Share your data plans with the password illustrated.
On Android
- Turn data roaming on.
- Tap “Settings” on your device.
- Go to “Connections” or “Network & Internet”
- Tap “Hotspot & tethering”
- Turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot.
This way, others can access the internet using your data plan.
Note: You may turn off your hotspot if you want to stop data sharing.
